THE TOWN PARK
Inaugurated by Mayor Oronzo Quaranta Jan 10
1917, the Umberto I Town Park was completed in 1930. Several
magnificent imported exotic trees and plants can still be seen
today. It stands on an ancient site where a large rain water
tank (fossa) for communal service used to stand. The public area
was redesigned at the end of the 20th century,
including a fountain by architect Guglielmo Cozzolino in
collaboration with the agronomist Piero Chiarelli. It is
intended to remind of the ancient rain tank.
