THE WAR VICTIMS MONUMENT

Inaugurated il Jan 13, 1923, it is dedicated to the I World War victims. Designed by Carlo Rodio, it war realized by stone cutter Angelo Antelmi. It’s situated on the former Piazza San Domenico site, were the 15^th century Domenican convent and church used to stand. They were demolished during the Napoleonic age to allow the opening of new streets and buildings. The new square named after Matteotti was realized in 1930.
